Chris Whitmore formed the original
company in 1985, having gained extensive experience of the management consultancy
business with one of the major international consultancies. CW International's early
work was in the fields of safety, IT, systems and procedures, and training. Initial
clients were mainly in the oil and gas industry and we became heavily involved in
the HSE initiatives resulting from the Piper Alpha disaster in 1988. Over recent years
we have successfully expanded our services into the areas of project and operations
support.
In 1990 we opened
our office in Ringwood, on the edge of the New Forest in Southern
England, and began to export our knowledge and expertise around
the world. Our name was changed in 1993 including in it the word
"International" to reflect the global growth in our services.
We have had
a significant presence in South East Asia since 1992 and have worked
around the world in countries including,

The interesting
nature of our work and the places in which we operate have enabled
us to attract and retain high-calibre staff, on whom the Company's
success relies.
At the end of 1999, CW International's
shareholding in an associate company was bought by a major international engineering
group. This has provided us with the ability to invest in new opportunities for growth
in the services we can offer our clients.
